They arrived on a Thursday, and made it from Heathrow to our house on the Tube in the evening. They've been to visit before, but when we lived in Oxford, so they found the new house no problem! We laid low on Thursday evening with a dinner in and Friday tested out one of the neighborhood places Kent and I have been wanting to try forever - Kitchen W8. The food was amazing - all three courses of it! Good thing we had a long-ish walk home. :-)
Saturday we toured Holland Park, including a quick game of giant chess, then set off to the Borough Market.
At the Borough Market, we picked up supplies for a nice dinner at home, including aged T-bones from Kent's favourite butcher, cheese from the famed Neal's Yard Dairy, and fresh veg from the local farmers.
On our way home, nice walk along the Thames...notice St. Pauls in the background. We made our way back to the Tube....a very crowded Saturday ride!
We whipped up a fancy steak dinner Saturday afternoon before heading out to see a great show. Mom and Dad treated us to Wicked, the incredible untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students, and how one came to be called 'good' and the other 'wicked. Really great show! Every show we've seen so far in London has amazing sets, actors, singers.
Sunday was a lazy day, as all four of us were feeling a little under the weather. My travels to the US and Mom & Dad's Italy tour had us all worn out. We did manage to make it to the pub for a classic "Sunday roast" accompanied by a competitive game of Scrabble (which I won, if I remember correctly HAHA!).
Great to see Mom & Dad and show them around our neighborhood in London!!
