8th Annual Christmas Cocktail Party

We had our annual Christmas party on Saturday the 17th.  We were kind of on the fence about having a party this year, but we've had one for the past 7 years that Kent and I have known each other, so why break tradition??  We didn't think we knew that many people yet, and we didn't think the house was "ready" to host a party.  Nothing like a party to motivate you to get the house decorated (both permanent and Christmas decorations) and clean!   And, between Kent's work, triathlon club, Junior League and the old friends (like Sue and Sean) we ended up having 30 people say yes!

We had a great time decorating, making fancy food and getting to know people a little better.  Three even stayed til 3am!   Wouldn't you know it though - we didn't take a single picture of people during the party!  DOH!   Here are a few of the decorations at least:

Some of the awesome flower arrangements and decorations Kent made.

Displaying our Christmas cards from the picture rail on ribbon...a great way to disguise that we don't have any art on the wall.  :-)

The food and wine display!

Pround of my desserts: Bacon & dark chocolate cupcakes, Mexican brownies with candied cayenne pepper, truffles (white choc w/almong, white choc w/peppermint, dark choc w/Gran Mariner, Earl Grey infusesd dark choc, cayenne milk choc)
