First signs of spring?

Well, its the end of Jan and temps are in the high 60s.  This Atlanta winter is not too bad!  Our house came with about a million and one bulbs....iris, daffodil, hyacinth, lilies and who knows what else.  Kent painstakingly dug up all of the bulbs when we turned over the garden in the summer/fall. Or so he thought.

We have bulbs coming up everywhere!  Kent re-planted a lot of the ones he dug up and also some, like the daffodils below, we didn't even know were there. We even had this yellow mini-tulip looking flower come up in the middle of the front lawn that Kent tilled and re-seeded!  These daffodils must think it's spring already - they first ones in the front beds and we have a whole line of them in the back.  There's also a pretty purple hyacinth and tons of iris on their way.   We went a little overboard at Home Depot last week and bought MORE - gladiolas, ranunculus, and giant "dinner plate" dahlias.

The giant tulip magnolia in our backyard - the one that our neighbors have raved about - is full of pink buds.  We're excited to see everything in full bloom....hopefully a cold February won't kill everything!

Here are a few pics of the first hints of Spring:
