A couple of weekends ago, on probably the sunniest day all summer, we rounded up a group to go wakeboarding! Kent and I are really missing the lake this summer....and this was a little piece of home here in Oxford. For his brithday, I got Kent a gift certificate for the "Oxford Ski and Wakeboard Club" for a session on the boat (included gear and everything). We finally got a group of brave, athletic friends to join us. Our friends Ryan, Caroline, Dave and Nicole suited up and we took the bus about 15 min outside of Oxford to a nice, calm lake.

I sort of have it....we were so sore for about three days! I guess that's what wakeboarding once per year will do for us!
This boat had a 'learners bar' which I think really helped our beginner crew. Only Dave had wakeboarded before and he got up no problem. Here's Ryan showing Step 1 - using the bar.

Caroline up on Step 2 - the short rope from the bar. They were all naturals!! It took me much longer than one session to learn to get up and follow the boat. All in all it was a fun day, enjoying the little bit of British sunshine with friends. We really miss the lake in Austin and all of our friends!!
