A very English wedding

Sooo....this wedding was actually way back on Sept. 19 (and here it is today Oct. 27!). So this will be quick - a few photos.

Last month, we went to a beautiful wedding of some of our closest friends in Oxford, Ryan and Caroline. Ryan was in the MBA program with Kent, and they shared study groups, good & bad professors, rugby practice, and of course afternoons in the pub. I got to know Caroline over the course of the year - she was also working hard to support the guys while they studied. She's a triathlete also, and we did a few running races and a tri together over the summer. Long story short, they'll be good friends of ours long term. Kent even gave a really nice reading at the wedding ceremony.

On to details about the wedding.... Caroline did her undergrad at Oxford, at Magdalen College, and they had the ceremony there in the beautiful chapel. Perfect ceremony in a very English setting. Caroline looked gorgeous, of course!

Afterwards, we moved for the cocktail hour to the lawn of Exeter College, Ryan's college at Oxford. I had never been inside, and it was gorgeous. Up a set of stairs, there is a walk which overlooks the Radcliffe Camera....see our prom picture.....It helped that we had an abnormal warm, sunny day in Sept (lucky for them!) and we enjoyed a smashing game of croquet on the lawn with a group of friends....glass of champagne in hand. We're so posh. Into the evening, we moved to the Randolph hotel, one of the old and historic hotels in the center of Oxford. A great meal, a few more glasses of bubbly, a shocking roast (not toast....ROAST) of the groom, and plenty of dancing ensued!! Here you see Caroline getting ready to cut the cake with a sword....all in all a very fun, English wedding!
