Britsh Museum

A couple of Sunday's ago, we thought Spring had actually arrived. The sun was shining, we only needed a light jacket, and no gloves. People were coming out of the woodwork to visit the parks. We decided to make the most of it and walk to the British Museum to take advantage of the free admission. It was a gogeous walk - all the way across Hyde Park and zig zagging through Mayfair & Soho to avoid the crowds.

The British Museum is massive! A collection of items taken from all of the countries that the Briths Empire explored and/or conquered in their long history. You could spend days to tour the entire thing.....

Most visitors start with the Rosetta Stone - one of the most important pieces at the British Museum. It's pretty amazing to see the key to understanding Egyptian hieroglyphs - and it is from 196BC!
We continued on in the 'Egypt wing' for several hours and made a quick tour of the African art section. We'll have to go back to see the rest of the 'empire'!
