The past two weekends, Kent and I went out exploring on Saturday to check out some new neighborhoods. We ventured up to
Notting Hill and the massive
Portobello Market. It's a nice walk from our house, and it was actually a nice sunny day when we first went two weeks ago.

You can find anything from authentic antiques (silver tea sets and such) to home decorations to vintage clothes to cheap sunglasses (Kent's a sucker) to farm-fresh fruit & veg (I'm a sucker). We found some great produce and a new hat for me! The market stretches the length of
Portobello Road, and by the time we knew it, we were laden with bags and too far to walk home! The answer: go to a pub to regain strength and then walk home. :-)

The next weekend, we explored in the other direction...close to Waterloo station just south of the river. We went to a Chocolate Festival that I heard about and there was a German Christmas Market on the river bank also. We feasted on gourmet truffle samples and then picked up some hot roasted chesnuts....mmm....a perfect lunch.
We're enjoying exploring London so far (can't
believe it's been 2 months already!) but it's really cold and dark during the winter...not many daylight hours to explore!
