Last weekend I volunteered to bring a dessert to a party the triathlon club hosted. I thought, what could be better than gooey brownies with Nutella. I Googled and found a good recipe on someones blog and adapted it to use Nutella. Beware, there is nothing healthy about these, but they are SO good. Cut in small squares....they are the richest brownies ever! The triathletes gobbled them up!!
Nutella Brownies
Makes a 9x13 batch, but could easily be halved for a regular 8x8 pan.

1/8 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 cup Butter (2 sticks)
2 cups Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/4 cup Chocolate Chips

Ingredients:
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
3/4 cup Cocoa
1/8 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 cup Butter (2 sticks)
2 cups Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla Extract
4 large Eggs
1 cup Nutella
1/4 cup Chocolate Chips
Garnish: Nutella & hazelnuts
- Preheat the oven to 350 deg F.
- Prepare a 9x13 pan with a sheet of parchment in the bottom. Give a quick spray all round with non-stick spray.
- Whisk or sift together the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
- On a low heat, melt the butter and add in the sugar while stirring to combine. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and cool completely.
- Add the eggs one at a time and mix well to combine after each addition.
- Add the flour mixture, a bit at a time, to the egg mixture until completely mixed in. Do not overmix.
- Heat the nutella in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time until you get it to a runny consistency. Add the Nutella and chocolate chips to the batter and stir gently.
- Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes, or until the center is set.
- Remove from oven and cool completely before cutting. (this will make cutting much easier, as these are very gooey brownies!)
- Garnish with a dollop of Nutella and one hazelnut.

You had me at "one cup nutella." Sounds awesome!!!!
ReplyDeleteThere is also a recipe online from FOOD & WINE for Nutella swirl pound cake. Heard it's good!
